Position Summary:
 
Under the direction of the Payroll Director, the Senior Payroll Analyst supports Payroll Analysts, and oversees the completion and accuracy of their Time Reporting and Employee UC Path Database transactions to ensure conformance with academic and staff personnel policies. Responsible for managing the College of Health Sciences Payroll unit e-mail (HSPayroll) and ServiceNow requests for all schools, programs, centers, basic science and clinical departments. Liaison with Academic Personnel, Human Resources, Central Payroll, and COHS departments as needed

Required:
 
5-7 years of experience with BA/BS, or equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in payroll analysis. Demonstrated critical thinking skills. Demonstrated skill to work independently to analyze situations, interpret data, define problems and/or objectives, identify relevant factors, and formulate logical conclusions. Experience using Excel to input and organize data, analyze data, and create accurate and informative tables, charts, graphs, and reports. Ability to read and write in the English language. Ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies including faculty, administrators, staff, and students. Skill to organize tasks, prioritize, and complete assignments when faced with heavy and diversified workload, deadlines, and demanding requests for service in an environment of frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both as an individual and a team member to achieve the goals of the College. Demonstrated experience working as a member of a team, being willing to offer services and respond to requests for assistance under appropriate circumstances. Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Strong mathematical skills. Strong judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Uses strong interpersonal and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Problem solving, problem identification, reasoning skills and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. Thorough knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, and possesses a strong understanding of organizational rules and regulations. Ability to maintain the confidentially of student, faculty, and staff personnel and financial information. Thorough knowledge of all payroll processes, policies, and procedures; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs.
 
Preferred:
 
Experience in one or more areas of Payroll Personnel, UCPath, and Time Reporting System (TRS) Working knowledge of UC Staff and Academic Personnel, Payroll Policies, Procedures, and collective bargaining contracts.
