| Job Summary | Are you looking for an opportunity to not just design, build and operate networks, but to build solutions to help educate students and support the Common Good ? Bowdoin College was founded and endowed in the belief that there is something bigger than ourselves and strives to support all students with programs such as need blind admissions and the recently launched Digital Excellence Commitment (DExC) . Bowdoin is looking for someone to design and build our next generation network connecting our Brunswick, Maine campus , the Schiller Coastal Studies Center , and data centers to the Internet and cloud. Working with a small networking team you will create, install, and operate the next 10-year network supporting the college’s academics, research, and operations. You will have the opportunity to influence how students interact and connect to the Internet, how research is completed on high performance computing clusters in the data center, and how faculty digitally interact with students, all while maintaining high levels of security, operability, and scalability. | Standard Work Days and Hours | Fully remote, with occasional trips to campus as needed for qualified candidates (Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, New Hampshire and New York). This position is expected to work normal business hours, however there will be times when after-hours work may be required for maintenance or problem resolution. |
