The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Lecturer, education focused academic to fulfil the role of Course Coordinator of the Master in Green Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies.
Education-focused staff at Monash are an elite category of the academy who focus on and contribute to the innovation of education and leading the design and delivery of education at the University. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the education and research effort of the school, and to engage and provide leadership within the University and in the study of Chemistry.
You will provide knowledge and leadership in reviewing, revising, and implementing changes to the school’s educational offerings in the field of green and sustainable chemistry, principally in the Master course but also reaching into the school’s undergraduate offerings. The priorities of the school are focused on: Energy, Sustainability and Health, with an aspiration to grow and lead in Digital Chemical Technologies. As well as recognised research strengths and capability in the fields of Synthesis and Catalysis, Materials and Nanoscience, Energy, Polymers, Chemical Biology and Health, Environmental and Analytical Chemistry, Food and Agriculture, and Chemical Education.
The incumbent will undertake academic duties that include the delivery and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs; supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students; and will be supported in related research and scholarly activities.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A doctoral qualification in Chemistry or relevant qualifications in a closely related field
- Proven ability, commitment and passion for delivering engaging academic education
- A quality scholarship and/or research record
- Demonstrated ability to promote the discipline both within the University and to the greater community
