About the role

The Institute of Health and Wellbeing offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in exercise and sports science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, public health, speech pathology, work health and safety, and research.

The Senior Lecturer, Clinical Psychology will contribute to the development and delivery of courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in research activities and contribute to the Institutes administrative functions.  You will also be involved in placement co-ordination, supervision and teaching of Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Professional Psychology students and will assist with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for our Undergraduate students.

You will:

  • provide leadership in developing, teaching, coordinating, and moderating courses in Clincal Psychology;
  • undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
  • supervise students undertaking project courses, honours programs and research higher degrees; and
  • participate in team projects.

About you

It is desired you will have experience in lecturing and tutoring, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching and learning with the ability to develop and implement a student-centred approach with a focus on student success. You will work collegially and possess international research expertise.

You will possess:

  • a doctorate degree or equivalent, and Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved supervisor status. Registration as a psychologist with clinical endorsement (AHPRA) is required;
  • commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching and learning, and a good teaching record;
  • previous experience in academic administration;
  • ability to cultivate relationships in Ballarat community and in surrounding areas to set up and maintain placements and WIL activities and pathways; and
  • previous experience providing clinical supervision is desirable.
