You will be expected to lead the third year, as well as generate content and undertake the delivery of theory and practice as part of a team of senior lecturers across all three years of the course.
At a critical time for the future of profession the you will work with the programme team to build on our industry leading position since establishing the first three-year study of Interior Design in 1975. Camberwell College of Arts is a prestigious establishment with a track record of teaching and nurturing impressive talent. Much of its success is down to its dedicated employees, and you will play an important role in shaping future creative professionals, and impact on the future of so many creative industries.
Now is a crucial time for Camberwell College of Arts and the University of the Arts London. The pandemic and anti-racism movement in their own and intersecting ways set a new landscape for higher education in the creative arts, in which ways of teaching and operating will be reconsidered, and where the values of social justice and anti-racism must underpin everything we do. These conditions set both urgent challenges but also the potential to reflect on what we do.
Camberwell College of Arts aims to engage with and lead the global debate about the arts, performance and design, and their role in societal transformation. We also aim to empower our graduates to be the leading practitioners in their field, as well as responsible citizens of the world. We hope you will consider joining our creative community.
University of the Arts London offers generous leave, a final salary pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
The ideal candidate will hold a higher degree (e.g., MA) in Interior and Spatial Design or an associated subject. Coupled with this, you should also have experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, and be able to apply an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching.
You will be able to collaborate and work effectively within teams and across different professional groups, whilst planning, prioritising and managing resources effectively to achieve objectives.
A teaching qualification (PG Cert) or equivalent and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy is desirable.
