Senior Lecturer

The Directorate of Studies for History at the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies is responsible for 2 BA and 6 MA fields of studies (approx. 5000 students).

As a senior lecturer you will be member of the directorate of studies for history. We expect the successful candidate to remain up to date with the current state of research, to undergo continuing education and training in didactics, to conduct research when no classes are being held. You will teach in all history curricula (including the Introductory and Orientation period), with a focus on: Austrian History (up to 1815); Research Techniques and Academic Writing; History of Historiography, and the Introductory and Orientation Period). In addition, the University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to fulfil administrative tasks, in particular the administration of teaching.
In case of a positive evaluation at the end of the term of employment, the employment contract may be extended for an indefinite period of time.
