Under general supervision of the Director for Diversity and Inclusion Education and Outreach (DIEO) in Central Human Resources, the Senior Diversity and Inclusion Training Consultant provides training, support and consultation to the Emory University schools and business units that strengthen workforce capabilities in Diversity and Inclusion for a high performing organization.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develops and facilitates Diversity and Inclusion (DI) programs to meet the needs of all Emory University staff that are received as informative, dynamic and engaging.
  • Solicits feedback on the effectiveness of training programs and implements appropriate changes.
  • Maintains relationships with teams and leaders across the University.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities where DIEO can add value (e.g., training) for improvement and growth.
  • Designs and conducts DI related needs analysis of individuals, teams and departments; determines the optimal DI solution to enhance effectiveness and support strategic goals.
  • Delivers workshops for professional and DI leadership development programs as needed; occasionally provides customized, on-site training aligned with client’s strategic priorities.
  • Continuously improves workshops and other services offered.
  • Provides support for search committees through identification and facilitation of appropriate diversity education as it relates to unbiased recruitment.
  • Conducts research on best practices and incorporates into existing offerings.
  • Consults with department leaders to design and implement DI training and related initiatives and ensure alignment with the mission, vision and values of the department and Emory.
  • Helps leaders structure, design, and implement organizational change through DI initiatives; makes recommendations to affected leadership.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field and four years of experience in organizational development, training and development or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A thorough understanding of and experience with adult learning strategies, project management, change management, and measurement/assessment methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in DI principles and tenets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytic skills, interpersonal and influencing skills and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent consulting, facilitation, presentation and relationship-building skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • DEI and Change Management certifications preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
