DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The Advancement and Alumni Engagement’s “Business Relationship Management” team coordinates, plans, supports, and executes division-wide IT projects. Provides support for project plan development and monitoring budgets and scope. Manages the Project Management Life Cycle from beginning to end and communicates frequently with stakeholders and project teams to ensure stakeholder and project team buy-in. The Client Services group (BRM) are strategic business partner who shares ownership for both business strategy and business value results. The BRM owns client-level relationships and serves as a single point of working to converge such as IT, project management, etc. and one or more lines of business or value streams. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Coordinates, plans, and executes enterprise-wide IT projects providing support for project plan development and monitoring budgets and scope.
  • Manages the full Project Management Life Cycle and communicates frequently with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Applies industry-accepted methodologies (i.e., Project Management Institute [PMI]) to ensure adherence to project management standards and requirements and to provide stakeholders with continual reports on project progress and performance.
  • Consults with project sponsors and stakeholders to clarify project directives, scopes, deliverables, and timelines and to analyze risk.
  • Creates project charters and analyzes business cases to validate and clarify issues, justify the use of project resources, and to anticipate risks.
  • Conducts bid sessions and/or vendor RFP efforts to select and manage suppliers and supplier payments.
  • Interacts with Enterprise-wide senior management to represent UTS’s interests, understand customer requirements, validate assumptions and to ensure adherence to UTS project methodology.
  • Utilizes PM tools to manage project timelines and accuracy, ensure project resource commitments and milestones are met, to track activities and variances, and ensure the project scope is maintained.
  • Interacts with project customers to verify completion dates, review milestone expectations and manage UTS resource schedules.
  • Closes project contracts to validate supplier statements of work (SOWs) and verify deliverables.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

In addition to the duties outlined above, the Senior Director may be required to:

  • Create and enforce division standards relative to technology initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain knowledge/expertise of current software and hardware solutions, security requirements,  maintenance, and administration including HIPAA and PCI. Supervise staff. 
  • Represent the department or serve as primary contact working with other departments across the division/University.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in higher education, development, fundraising, healthcare, or equivalent experience in a non-profit institution which includes experience managing staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates will possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at problem-solving with attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a complex work environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion. 
  • Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, relational databases, project management software, imaging, virtualization, lab management, and CRM systems.
  • Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, relational databases, project management software, technical reporting tools, PL-SQL Developer, Toad, Visual Studio, and CRM systems.
  • An aptitude in mastering new software, applications, and databases.
  • Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
