MU Extension’s Community Health Engagement and Outreach program’s goal is to achieve optimal health and well-being for every Missourian at every stage of life, with special recognition for the needs of vulnerable populations. The Community Health Field Specialist will provide a link between the community, health educators, health professionals, schools, and community organizations to assist implementing strategies to improve the health and well-being of individuals and the community.¿ 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The University of Missouri is seeking an exceptional individual to bring innovation and leadership to enhance the impact of the University in the lives of Missourians at every stage of life. This position assists the Education Directors in planning, implementation, and analysis of overall operations and policies and procedures, departmental objectives and marketing plans and resource management, as well as prepare and analyze internal and external reports. The Senior Coordinator is responsible for daily alignment of projects with CHEO goals, assist with work plans, support teams, and ensuring milestones are achieved, and communicate the outcomes to stakeholder audiences. 

This position serves as the Senior Coordinator for Community Health Engagement & Outreach, responsible for ensuring successful organizational planning, development, and growth opportunities. The Sr. Coordinator is integral in coordinating development, delivery, and improvement across the state, working with state faculty from partner colleges, Extension, across Health Outreach Policy & Education (HOPE), MU Health, and as well as faculty and associates headquartered in counties across the state. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

• Responsible for working with faculty, staff, and graduate students in planning and coordination all aspects of MU Extension’s CHEO programs including, daily operations, marketing, recruitment, staff training and facilitating coordination of efforts on specific projects.  

• Work with MU Extension’s CHEO team, internal and external partners to expand the community and public health initiatives throughout the state. 

• Work with CHEO team to develop and implement long term resource development. 

• Coordinate with Education Directors for implementation of a diverse portfolio of projects and grants. 

• Develop and maintain professional working relationships and partnerships. 

• Establish and cultivate partnerships across programs and with external organizations and institutions. 

• Support Education Directors in planning, support overall MU Extension program delivery.

Administrative supervision is received from Education Directors of Community Health Engagement and Outreach, in collaboration with the Senior Program Director.
