We’re seeking a creative and energetic Senior Content Strategist & Copywriter to lead the marketing communications efforts for Georgetown and its many diverse graduate programs. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for leading the content strategy across all channels, and serving as the voice and brand steward. This includes developing an editorial style guide, creating website and landing page content, key messaging, and overseeing the strategy and execution of automated drip campaigns in our marketing automation platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead content strategy and management:

  • Identify website user experience objectives and design content flow accordingly 
  • Develop and execute a lead-gen focused and SEO-driven content strategy for each School and its programs, ensuring that all content is on brand, consistent in tone/voice, meets digital accessibility guidelines, and aligns with overarching objectives of the marketing team
  • Develop and manage a content creation plan and workflow for all marketing content
  • Create a GU Graduate Programs Editorial Style Guide and key messaging for all designated programs
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest tools, trends, and best practices in the content strategy and marketing communications field

Create copy and content for marketing communications:

  • Oversee the design, content, cadence, and build of the automated communications in the CRM system
  • Lead implementation of all marketing content development across emails, websites, paid native and social, text ads, audio ads, and all other channels, as appropriate
  • Write and edit copy for print and digital marketing efforts
  • Manage the program and school’s voice through consistent application of the GU graduate school style and tone
  • Perform quality assurance on all website and email content

Develop and write content for assigned programs:

  • Following leads from academic programs and admissions, research, write, and edit copy for the website
  • Develop and/or revise key messaging and all website copy for all programs
  • Incorporate program-specific content into paid placements as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience developing content strategies, writing, and editing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to write engaging marketing and advertising copy
  • Ability to think creatively and tap into consumer mindsets to deliver value
  • Adept at seeing the big picture as well as delving into granularities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience implementing SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility best practices
  • Fantastic sense of humor
