| Department Summary | AIM–AHEAD Coordinating Center: Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity. The Senior Communications Specialist will work under the Principal Investigator of the AIM–AHEAD Leadership/Administration Core within the AIM–AHEAD Consortium. The Senior Communications Specialist will be responsible for maintaining AIM-AHEAD’s social media presence and any other outward facing form of digital communication. |
| Position Overview | This person is a seasoned writer who will be responsible for carrying out the strategic direction of digital communications for the regional hubs within the AIM–AHEAD Leadership/Administration Core, within the AIM–AHEAD Consortium, and the greater public. |

Job Duties
| o | Research, write, edit, and proofread stories under the direction of the Communications Director. Provide timely updates and work collaboratively with the Communications Team. |

| o | Develop, edit, and/or write compelling content for online, social media, in-person, and in-print use, including client stories, fact sheets, op-eds, blog postings, PowerPoint presentations, scripts, speeches, white papers, etc. |

| o | Coordinate website editorial content with staff, keep content up to date, and ensure all web pages and documents meet established content standards. |

| o | Work with Communications Team to create strategies for social media platforms and create and post content daily, keeping audiences engaged (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). |

| o | Develop and manage standard news announcements for internal and external consumption. |

| o | Develop and maintain stakeholder communications and media lists, as well as a cost-effective and integrated news distribution strategy aligned with key audiences (e.g. AI/ML academics and industry, community health workers, faith-based organizations, non-profits, etc.). |

| o | Work with leadership to develop key messages and talking points and identify opportunities for positive communications. |

| o | Monitor situations that may adversely impact AIM-AHEAD’s reputation, and, as situations require, recommend and develop an appropriate communications response. |

| o | Craft creative, compelling and relevant content for recruitment and consortium growth, i.e. catalogs, brochures, newsletters, postcards, etc. |

| o | Write copy for email stewardship and solicitation pieces, included direct mail and e-mail. |
