The Sr. Clinical Education Consultant will implement a clinical strategy tailored to Canada in support of ASP’s business objectives. The consultant will identify, develop and deliver clinical presentations to healthcare professionals at the local, regional and national level. Partnering with key professional representatives at society annual meetings to identify education opportunities is an important part of the job. The consultant will also provide clinical expertise through consultation, education, and training of ASP’s products to both internal and external customers while being responsible for developing long- term customer relationships, which build loyalty and confidence in ASP as the preferred vendor.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops a strong partnership with the ASP Canada National Manager, as well as the Product & Technical Services Manager to deliver clinical expertise and programs aligned to meet the needs of the Canadian Business objectives, Customers, GPO’s, and ASP Product Specialists.
  • Provides clinical expertise to ASP Product Specialists to implement customer solutions using ASP products & services.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert to integrate ASP solutions throughout the Canada medical device industry landscape.
  • Develops annual plans to implement education programs & product training initiatives for internal colleagues and healthcare systems.
  • Leads the scheduling and delivery of clinical presentations to healthcare system and Product Specialists, prioritized and in-conjunction with the ASP National Manager.
  • Identifies, develops and optimally maintains relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Provides leadership, technical mentoring & clinical training to new hire ASP Canada Sales team members & Clinical Education Consultants, where required.
  • Provide clinical expertise to customers on ASP products through consultation, assessment and education. Expertise, input and assistance pertaining to RFP & Tender submissions where necessary in-conjunction with the ASP Canada Sales & Marketing team is required.
  • Responsible for communicating customer needs driven by market trends, practice changes and regulatory standards.
  • Plans, develops, and implements customer educational programs to meet current and future customer needs.
  • Collaborates with Professional Education and Sales Training on the development of all educational material, e.g., videos, cd for both internal and external customers.
  • Serves as the Sr. Clinical Education Consultant representative on ASP committees/initiatives.
  • Maintains active membership in professional organization(s) to continue professional growth and development.

Our Needs:

  • RN with BSN, or BS/BA required, master’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of current clinical experience in OR and /or MDRD and/or GI Endoscopy Suite required. Minimum five (5) years of clinical education consultant experience in medical devices/diagnostics required.
  • Written and verbal fluency in French & English required. 
  • Experience delivering presentations at regional/national level required.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) or Medical Device Reprocessing or Endoscopy preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional work team.
  • Effectively communicate market challenges and opportunities to the ASP organization.
  • Clinical expertise in surgical instrumentation including endoscopic instruments.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and high-level disinfection.
  • Knowledge of National and Provincial regulatory agencies, CSA, CSGNA, IPAC, AAMI, OSHA, JCAHO, which impact the environments we serve.
  • Demonstrates understanding of organization’s business strategy and business model.
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex issues easy for others to understand.
  • Effectively manages and adapts to change.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead a cross functional work team.
  • Effectively communicates market challenges and opportunities.
  • Clinical expertise in surgical instrumentation including endoscopic instruments preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and high-level disinfection.
  • Knowledge of operating room, medical device reprocessing and endoscopy suite practices, procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of Perioperative nursing standards, infection control standards, SGNA guidelines and MDRD guidelines for practice.
  • Knowledge of ASP’s products and competitive products.
  • Knowledge of market changes or trends in healthcare environments utilizing sterilization products.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices in healthcare organizations.
  • Knowledge of operating and capital budgets.
  • Knowledge of National and Provincial regulatory agencies, CSA, CSGNA, IPAC, AAMI, OSHA, JCAHO which impact the environments we serve.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
  • Highly-developed interpersonal/people skills, articulate and effective communication skills (written and verbal in French & English) at all levels.
