Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst develops artifacts and supports processes related to data governance aligned to various initiatives including reporting, analytics, and application integration. The incumbent works collaboratively with central and departmental administrative users through one-on-one interviews, small groups and large sessions to document business requirements and identify solutions. The individual in this role coordinates and conducts project activities related to the specifications gathering, report and data model development, testing, and rollout of management reporting systems. The Senior Business Analyst manages data quality efforts by writing test plans, conducting initial validation and working with administrative units on establishing processes and procedures to identify and fix erroneous data. This role assists in delivering training programs and campus rollout ensuring user acceptance and adoption. The Senior Business Analyst maintains working functional knowledge of business needs and practices related to the university’s administrative processes.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, data warehousing or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
1+ years of experience with Collibra data governance software or 1+ years of experience (development and support) with enterprise reporting using a major platform (e.g., Tableau, OBIEE, etc.) or 1+ years of experience working with a major ERP system (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.)
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Read, understand, and write SQL queries; understand relational data Ability to understand, document and communicate complex and technical subject matter (e.g., business process models, workflows, metadata, etc.)
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of data governance concepts with an ability to apply them Knowledge of the business needs and administrative processes found in a higher education organization

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $105,000.00 to USD $155,000.00.
