Job Summary The Information Technology Services department at the Harbert College of Business seeks candidates for a Senior Audio Visual Systems Engineer role. This position will report to the College’s Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for leading strategic and tactical initiatives relating to audio-visual systems throughout the College’s facilities, including classrooms, common areas, team rooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces. The Sr. AV Engineer will coordinate with a variety of stakeholders such as the College’s faculty and staff, the Office of Information Technology, and vendors to ensure that the College’s needs are met.

Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Analyzing, designing, implementing, operating, deploying, documenting, and supporting audio-visual systems such as televisions, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and lighting in coordination with the Campus Audio Video Systems group.
2. Researching advancements in technology and making recommendations based on the College’s desire to leverage leading edge systems to advance its strategic and operational goals.
3. Regularly consulting with faculty and staff to gain and maintain an understanding of their needs.
4. Developing and supporting processes and people to support streaming, recording, and other A/V needs of classes and special events.
5. Hiring, training, and supervising A/V team members.
6. Managing A/V projects and teams to ensure that scheduling, budget, scope, and quality targets are met.
7. Providing on-call support for designated systems and services.

Minimum Skills and Abilities • Expert understanding of audio visual systems, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
• Knowledge of audio/video, lighting control, security , and access control.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Minimum Technology Skills • Strong technical aptitude and computer skills.
• Proficiency with professional computer systems and office applications
