SUTD’s Venture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VIE) Office helps bridge cutting edge technology with society’s challenges. We offer a host of entrepreneurship education and technology commercialisation programmes to equip individuals in the SUTD community to become business owners. As a lean team, you get to live and breathe all things start-up, work alongside start-up founders, and help us spread the word on our programmes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Outreach (40%)

• By working with the rest of the team, you will envision and execute an outreach plan that covers events, marketing and publicity for our programmes, help increase the awareness of our work and drive participation to the events/workshops for SUTD students, researchers, and the wider community.
• You will be the life of the party! You will organise and facilitate workshops, events, and networking sessions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within the SUTD community and beyond. You will be working closely with colleagues and should be comfortable moving seamlessly between planning, content, and execution.
• You will be the heart of our community, by facilitating connections with partners in the start-up ecosystem with a view to co-organizing initiatives, events that supports our founders’ and the start-ups’ development.

Communications (40%)

• You will be the voice of our team! You will support in the designing and creating content for our various communication channels, such as newsletters, websites, social media, and event publicity.
• You will help us reimagine and initiate new communication initiatives and events to engage start-up founders and alumni founders and encourage connection and engagement among the community back to VIE.

Venture & Incubation Support (20%)

• You will be a support pillar, by becoming a venture partner and supporting aspiring start-up founders. This may also cover areas such as grant support for teams and incubation facility support.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in any discipline combined with proficiency in creating content and design for publicity and marketing materials. Working knowledge of visual communications, design and website development are added advantages
• Prior experience working in or with start-ups and the start-up community, preferably in community building, outreach and communications or related fields
• Able to articulate ideas well both verbally and in writing effectively
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude
• Comfortable with working in a lean team while receiving and rendering support from/to the rest of the team
• Comfortable with interacting with a wide variety of people
