Senior Application Analyst – INTERNAL ONLY

This is an exciting role offering opportunity for the successful candidate to work to maintain educational applications.  

As a Senior Application Analyst, the role is focused on executing day-to-day service requests and incident resolution with a high user satisfaction rate. You will also be responsible for executing changes and updating problem records. The post holder will be a technical expert in educational application such as Kaizen, Practique and MaxExam. The post hold will also work on other related applications in the landscape that help deliver assessment and examinations. 

The successful candidate will be innovative and have a good understanding of service management and excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels.  

The role will report to the Educations Systems Manager.  

This post will be offered on a full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months.

  • To provide IT support for assigned education products   
  • Support colleagues within the same team
  • To develop and acquire deep E&S domain knowledge
  • To participate in horizontal teams both within the IT directorate and across to our business partners 
  • Escalate to Education Systems Manager where necessary  
  • Understanding of IT service management and preparing and updating documentation
  • Working with 3rd party suppliers to improve the service offering and escalate bugs
  • Work with other educational colleagues to support the day to day running of educational services
  • Work with the product owner to help with the prioritsation and portfolio 
  • Maintain excellent stakeholder engagement with key stakeholders in the Education and Students domain on the development and use of Student and Education Products
  • Carry out other tasks as agreed by Educations Systems Manager

Essential criteria  

1.       Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualification and experience

2.       Good knowledge or working experience of providing support to one or more applications/systems within Education domain (e.g. Kaizen, Practique and other educational tools)

3.       Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to identify and manage priorities.

4.       An understanding of data and integration technologies from various systems

5.       Excellent presentation skills and the ability to confidently communicate

6.       An ability to work under pressure, utilising your initiative and workload prioritization 

Desirable criteria

1.          ITIL 4 Foundation
