Purpose
Advise on aspects of a variety of strategic initiatives, including the design, construction, acquisition, and operation of university housing opportunities. Serve as a senior staff member within the portfolio of the Vice President for Legal Affairs and Business Strategies.
Responsibilities

Advise on aspects of strategic university housing initiatives, including the design, construction, acquisition, and operation of university housing opportunities.

Advise on other strategic initiatives related to the university use of land and community engagement.

Interface with other university units on behalf of Business Strategies

Serve as a senior staff member and strategic advisor to the Vice President for Business Strategies.
Required Qualifications
College degree. Significant experience in higher education housing development and management and university administrative operations generally. Committed to excellence in all aspects of work. Continuously function as a team member and independently with limited direction. Maintain ability to interact cooperatively with both staff and students; communicate effectively both in written and verbal form with a wide variety of constituencies; assure accuracy and follow through on details; and think creatively and use initiative to achieve goals. Maintain ability to perform multiple tasks; function capably in a complex organizational structure with fast-paced working conditions; make independent judgments; maintain confidentiality; maintain professional demeanor; provide leadership; be supervised; be flexible; adhere to university policies and procedures; and organize time and documents effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
20 or more years of higher education work experience, with 10 or more years of experience with university housing. Significant experience in higher education campus and facilities planning.

Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions and active construction sites; repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation whether onsite or remotely; use of manual dexterity; climbing of stairs; lifting and moving items; extended hours including weekends as necessary; and some travel. A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
