Senior Administrator

  • Provide quality admin support in a world-leading research facility, the Charles Perkins Centre

  • Part time (28 hours per week), fixed term until 26th September 2023

  • Base Salary $91,644 to $98,796+ 17% superannuation (pro-rata to 0.8 FTE)

About the opportunity

As a Senior Administration Officer, you will work across two key areas within the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), manage general administrative support including preparing documents, responding to complex queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions for the work area.

If you’re someone who manages your time well, enjoys flexibility where you can decide which days you work and wants a level of variety that working across two different departments can bring, this is the job for you.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage the general day to day office operations and administration activities

  • coordinate diaries, meetings, and events, including planning and managing events for the work area

  • build and manage effective working rapport with key stakeholders and staff across the University

  • manage record keeping, and finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area

  • ensure quality application of, and compliance with, University administration policies and procedures

  • be the first point of contract, respond to enquiries in person, by phone and email.

About you

  • must have demonstrated experience in a high-level administrative support role

  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or within a multi-faceted organisation

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong problem solving skills

  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills

  • proven experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing good customer service.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
