The University of Virginia Division of Student Affairs invites applications for an exciting administrative support opportunity. The Newcomb Hall, Senior Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support for the Strategic Initiatives & Student Success team, which encompasses programs, services, and initiatives related to Student Engagement, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Multicultural Student Services, Orientation & New Student Programs, the First Generation and Limited-Income student community, student spaces in Newcomb Hall, and divisional strategic initiatives.

The Division consists of over 200 employees within eight units working together, for and alongside students, to create the distinctive student experience for which UVA is known. This is a full-time, twelve-month University Staff position with benefits. Our intentionally team-based approach reflects a shift in traditional hiring models designed to embrace new paradigms that meet current needs. This is an in-person position with very limited opportunities for remote work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advanced, administrative coordination to support office operations and special projects.
  • Arrange business travel, coordinate meetings, and support agenda management and expense tracking.
  • Compile data for preparation and editing for senior leaders.
  • Review and answer correspondence, screen callers and visitors, and handle confidential matters.
  • Manage electronic files and produce reports.
  • Serve as the point of contact for facility, equipment, or service calls.
  • Organize meetings and materials for special events.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma. Bachelor’s may substitute experience.
Experience: Four years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for years of experience.
 

The salary range for is $50,000.00 – $56,000.00 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, twelve-month University Staff position with full benefits . Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
