Summary of Duties:
Perform complex secretarial duties such as independently planning, organizing and prioritizing work; monitoring and evaluating budget(s) status and initiating corrections; initiating purchasing actions within a pre-defined scope; developing travel itineraries and processing related paperwork; compiling reports, studies, and/or applications; developing, modifying, and/or maintaining data base management office record keeping, or filing system(s); establishing and/or coordinating office operations, procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines.
Initiates actions to ensure work unit and/or office goals are met and have frequent contacts with clients, the public, staff members from other departments, students, and faculty. Substantial professionalism, discretion and confidentiality required.
Assignments and projects are of a complex nature. Independent performance of complex secretarial assignments requires substantive knowledge of a variety of regulations, rules, policies, procedures, processes, materials, or equipment. Problems are resolved by choosing from established procedures and/or devising work methods.
Guidance is available for new or unusual situations. Deviation from established parameters requires approval. Work is periodically reviewed to verify compliance with established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent, AND two years of increasingly responsible office experience requiring keyboarding or typing; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite 360 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams), Adobe Forms, scheduling, and email programs, and highly proficient in Excel.
Must possess ability to work in confidential, busy office setting with multiple demands, and maintain a professional demeanor.
Experience in office setting that serves a variety of constituencies with a wide range of needs and demonstrated ability to understand and apply procedures and policies to work.
Demonstrated knowledge of WSU systems and some experience with accounting or bookkeeping.

Monthly Salary: $2,890/month – $3,167/month ($34,680-$38,004/year, Step A-Step E). Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
Work Location and Schedule:
Employees are expected to work on campus, in-person full time.
