Job description

The Scrum Master (SM) for C2P Mod project will work with two Agile Scrum Teams to help assist and facilitate the teams in the Agile process in a SAFe framework. The SM will work with the team on a daily basis to lead daily Scrum sessions to elicit participation by the team in reviewing team member commitments, identify challenges and dependencies and by helping to remove any roadblocks or hinderances to the team’s success. The SM will also help to schedule and conduct other Agile SAFe ceremonies such as Phase and Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives and Scrum of Scrums. The SM will work alongside a Product owner and two team leads to help define and manage work for the teams. It is desired the the SM will eventually become more familiar with the C2P Product so that they can help with Story Writing and contributing to the Agile artifacts of the Project.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions/Job Duties:Work with a development team as a scrum master to facilitate Agile best practices and mentor new team members on Agile processes.
Facilitate sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.Support the management team in communicating with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations.Collect and write detailed user stories and work with the team and client to identify associated tasks and acceptance criteria.Analyze business processes and work with the project team to implement and improve processes.Maintain a product backlog, support QA and requirement validation, meet with various stakeholders to discuss needs, and provide suggestions during stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering.Provide documentation for new efforts, including level of effort analysis, plans or timelines, requirements documents, and other required documentation.Equipment Used:

  • Computer, Keyboard, Mouse. Microsoft Office tools

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.

  • The Scrum Master (SM) should have excellent written communications skills.
  • The SM should be able to effectively communicate with leads, peers and the team at large.

Verbal Communications:

  • The Scrum Master (SM) should have excellent verbal communications skills.
  • The SM should be able to effectively communicate with leads, peers and the team at large.
  • The SM will speak at Agile ceremonies and represent their teams, goals and challenges.
  • The SM will also elicit participation of Scrum Team members.

QualificationsSkills/Qualifications:Required experience:2+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role or with managing teams to meet stakeholder objectives2+ years of experience with gathering and documenting technical and business requirementsExperience with JIRA & Confluence or a similar agile project management toolExperience in leading client delivery engagements and working with senior-level client managementExperience with teaching technical teams the basic Agile framework conceptsDesired Qualifications:Knowledge of the project management frameworkKnowledge of DoD and IT infrastructures
Possession of excellent interpersonal skills, to successfully interact with clients, engineers, and managersPossession of excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience operating in a scaled agile frameworkCustomer Interface Activities:

  • Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, NIWC-Pacific Center’s staff, and peer contractor personnel.

Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity
  • Ability to document and track project time lines and milestones

Work Schedule: 9/80Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in relevant technical field required
  • Masters Degree desired

Certification:

  • Certified Scrum Master required
  • SAFe Scrum Master Certification desired
  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master Certification desired

Pay Range: $100,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually, DOEU.S. Citizenship is requiredSecurity Clearance:Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government TS/SCI security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.
