Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Finance Officer for the Malawi Country Office, based in Lilongwe. The position is a one-year contract and reports to the Finance Coordinator.
The Finance Officer will support the monitoring, reporting, and management of the Country Office’s finances and resources. The role holder will assist in maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with Save the Children’s financial policies and donor requirements, and supporting efficient financial processes across the Country Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payments, managing programme advances and liquidations, supporting treasury management, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, supporting payroll processes, managing fixed assets, facilitating audits, strengthening internal controls, and building the financial management capacity of staff and implementing partners.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be required to work outside the normal role profile and adjust working hours accordingly.
