The Opportunity

We are looking for a Sales Manager to manage parts of our business in Western Canada

and Western US –

Selling products to building products industry, temperature assurance industry and OEM.

The Role

Manage and grow existing customers and to generate new sales opportunities with customers in targeted industry segments.

Find and build additional segments to grow the business

The candidate needs to be a self starter and ambitious as the company is looking to aggressively grow their business in lightly penetrated areas. Collaborating with other members of the Sales Team will be important and there is a strong culture of performance according to Company goals.

The role will be home based, but there will be travel to ensure that we develop strong relationships with our customers.

This individual will strive to continually maintain a professional image of the company, and integrity, passion, and in-person presentation skills are essential for this role.

Develop sales strategies to grow existing customers and develop new accounts, including the proposal of Sales targets.

Heavy focus on new business development while maintaining and building on existing customer relationships. Ongoing management of customer accounts to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Collaboration with Inside Sales team regarding the processing of customer orders, management of inventory and general account administration.

Work with the VP of Sales on pricing recommendations to ensure profitability targets are achieved while maintaining a competitive positioning.

Travel within the assigned territory to meet prospects and existing customers.

Educate customers on full portfolio of products.

Maintain records of all sales leads and customer accounts.

Monitor industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand the specific needs of the customer.

Work closely with marketing to help build the brand and identify new markets, customers, and products.

Emphasize product features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.

Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.

Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.

Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.

Use marketing data using applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.

Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.

Assist in creating Request for Proposal (RFP) responses to potential clients.

Periodically conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars, trade show demonstrations, and other efforts.

Requirements

University or college degree in business, engineering, or construction management, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

5-7 years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity, preferably in the building products industry

Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.

Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance.

Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management.

Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.

Strong knowledge of retail, distributor and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.

Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.

Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.

Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.

Strong written communication skills.

Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.

Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures and a knowledge of basic financial information (ie. Margin analysis).

Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

High level of integrity and work ethic.

Must possess a valid drivers license and/or passport.

Experience with customer relationship management software.

Location: Toronto , ON

Minimum Experience (yrs): 5-7
