Department/Faculty Summary
The Office of Rural and Regional Health works closely with counterparts throughout the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Rural and Regional communities in order to deliver medical education programs at all learner levels.
Position Summary
Working under the direction of the Director, ORRH and, where appropriate, the Associate Dean, Clinical Faculty, and other ORRH Rural Education Leads, the key responsibilities of the Rural Community Engagement Coordinator will be to steward the relationship between rural Clinical Faculty and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FoMD) through the ORRH. This position will build effective working relationships with the medical clinics and preceptors in rural Alberta and will frequently meet with preceptors in the rural communities to review their required needs. Through these visits, the Rural Community Engagement Coordinator will develop and implement strategies to accomplish the ORRH vision for medical education.
