The ASU Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Robert Sanderson Scholarship, which provides scholarships for incoming freshmen or transfer students who are pursuing STEM majors. This scholarship supports STEM students who seek to broaden their horizons by participating in non-STEM related, co-curricular activities. Students will be asked how their participation in non-STEM activities has broadened their learning.

This scholarship is administered and awarded externally by the ASU Foundation.

•Recipient must be pursuing a STEM major
•Recipient must demonstrate a history of participation in non-STEM related, co-curricular activities that have broadened recipient’s intellectual enrichment
•This scholarship requires eligible applicants to demonstrate financial need. In order to determine your eligibility, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the scholarship deadline. You may complete the FAFSA at the following link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ .

Application information

In the “Additional Documentation” field of the scholarship application, applicants will be asked to upload an essay answering the following prompt:
In what ways have you sought to broaden your intellectual horizons outside of STEM-related fields? Describe any non-STEM related co-curricular activities that you participate in and how they have help broadened your intellectual enrichment.
