Job Summary:

The Rhetoric and Language Department is rehiring a former student assistant for the department office. This position is not openly recruiting.
The position is best suited for individuals interested in gaining experience in an administrative office setting. The student assistant will frequently interact with students, faculty, and visitors to answer any inquiries regarding the Rhetoric or AEM program or redirect them to the necessary resources.

Full Job Description:

The student assistant will report to the Program Assistants and provide support to them as needed to help run the daily operations of the office. The student assistant will also provide support to faculty and assist with projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Front-desk support/answering multi-line phone

  • Handling client drop-ins and inquiries

  • Directing scheduled appointments to appropriate offices

  • Assisting with student paper turn-ins

  • Photocopying and scanning

  • Sorting mail

  • Updating Excel spreadsheets and other documents

  • Uploading syllabi into a database

  • Running errands throughout hilltop campus

  • Assisting with daily office upkeep

  • Other tasks as needed

Position details:

  • Previous office experience is a plus but not required
