Offer Description

  • Development of adhesives based on reversible covalent bonds for railway and aircraft applications
  • Physico-chemical, thermal and mechanical characterization of the developed dynamic polymer networks
  • Evaluation of the adhesive strength (also under selected environmental conditions) and the fire behaviour of the developed adhesive systems
  • Study of stimuli-triggered debonding of the adhesively bonded joints
  • Close cooperation with national project partners from industry and academia and regular presentation of results
  • Communication of research results to the scientific community (e.g. papers in peer-reviewed journals, oral/poster presentations at national and international conferences)

RequirementsResearch Field Other Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/Qualifications

  • Above average master’s degree in polymer chemistry or polymer engineering
  • Knowledge in formulation of thermoset polymer networks
  • Proof experience in characterization techniques, such as DSC, TGA, DMA, FTIR-spectroscopy or rheometer
  • Structured and independent way of working
  • Personal initiative, skills for self-organization and teamwork, effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with partner companies and research organizations
  • Excellent skills in English; basic skills in German are advantageous
