The research group Cosys-lab in the Faculty of Applied Engineering is looking for a full-time (100%) researcher/developer in the field of electronics and acoustic signal processing.

Position

  • You will collaborate with a product developer to realize the IOF Proof of Concept project ABN-HaFreeS whose goal it is to develop and market a bicycle hands free set.
    This is a project in multiple phases, where the first phase – that runs for 8 months – can be prolongated after approval of the intermediate results by the IOF council.
  • Together with you colleague product developer you will thoroughly get to know the eco system of bike- and communication accessories from all the stakeholders’ persectives (users, action groups, suppliers, government, …).
  • You will test the system developed and evaluate and improve it based on the feedback from the stakeholders and the relevant legislation.
  • You develop yourself to an entrepreneur that is on the long term capable of marketing the handsfree set.

Profile

  • You hold a Master degree in (applied) engineering or you will have obtained it by the time you start work.
  • You can demonstrate excellent study results.
  • You can work in team.
  • You have hands-on experience with designing embedded sensor systems.
  • You are interested in the commercial development next to the technical development.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies .
  • You have good written and spoken communication skills. You can speak and write fluently in English or Dutch.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation and show initiative.
  • You cannot suppress your entrepreneurial drive and are willing to work with strict deadlines.

What we offer

  • We offer a contract for a period of 8 months with the option to a 3-fold prolongation (if the intermediate results are positive).
  • The planned start date is 1/1/2023.
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale  for an assistant in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
  • You will do most of your work at the Groenenborger campus and the City campus in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
