UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician to assist research under the supervision of Dr David Monk in order to study “Identifying unique regulatory elements related to polymorphic imprinting and gestational aging in the placenta” which is funded through an BBSRC research grant.

We are looking for a technician to join our research team at the UEA Biomedical Research Centre. In addition to daily lab support, you will be responsible for assisting in the isolation of trophoblast and stromal cells from human placenta biopsies. You will also be responsible for managing the samples once the cohort has been collected and to perform the confirmatory PCRs and western blot experiments. Full on-the-job training will be provided.  

You will have a degree in Biology or related subject (or equivalent qualification) or equivalent level of experience and must be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification.   

The post is available from 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter on a full-time basis. The post is funded for a fixed term period of 2 years.
