Summary
Dr. Jason Lee of Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking technician III to contribute to developing a rigorous scientific foundation in his laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Molecular and Cellular biology. Dr. Lee’s scientific research focus based on post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression through organelle contact sites. Dr. Lee is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated research technician that is looking to develop into a profession and collaborative scientist. The research technician will contribute in achieving Dr. Lee’s research goals, and enriching the culture of the laboratory.
Job Duties
- Conducts research experiments.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
- Contributes to lab maintenance that includes autoclaving, making buffer solutions, cleaning glassware, ordering, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
