The Bruno lab at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician III.

The candidate will be responsible for routinely processing and analyzing human tissues and blood for a research lab focused on the cellular and molecular immunology of cancer. Comfort with handling human specimens is required. Experience processing human tissues, flow cytometry, human in vitro functional assays and data management is highly desirable. The candidate will be leading imaging studies in the lab, thus experience with basic immunohistochemistry or multispectral imaging is desired. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and compiling the expression of a large number of markers using a complex piece of equipment, CODEX.

Experience with the CODEX system is a plus, but not a requirement as specific training will be provided. The candidate will also work on other imaging techniques to supplement their training. Further, the candidate will help with some of the lab management, including organization, ordering, etc.

Occasional weekend work may be necessary and the ability to accommodate flexible work hours is desirable. Individuals looking for a medium sized lab environment and the opportunity to work with a fair amount of independence and responsibility will find this position rewarding. 

 
BS in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry. Minimum 2 years of experience in wet lab and experience with CODEX machine is desired. Knowledge of mathematical and chemical principles is preferred. Experience with handling human tissues is preferred.
