Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associate’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in molecular biology/cell culture/biochemical analysis including nucleic acid extraction, quantification, PCR, cloning, and/or next-gen sequencing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Cell Biology or a related discipline. Experience in mammalian cell culture, microbiological and molecular biology techniques including PCR and immunohistochemistry. Experience in microscopy such as confocal microscopy and fluorescent microscopy.
Brief Description of Duties:
The ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Research head to conduct wet-lab experiments and test new assays. The responsibilities will include assisting in researching assays and in the design of experiments; testing and optimizing new equipment and protocols; performing standard and investigative laboratory work by conducting bench-level experiments; operating analytical instruments, and collecting, compiling, and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; preparing charts, graphs, and summaries, and communicating results to the team. The candidate is expected to have strong communication and organizational skills, and to work with team members on advancing projects in a diverse and collaborative environment. Record keeping of experiments, results, specimen storage, and ordering of lab supplies. The candidate should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and experience in using and maintaining data spreadsheets and record keeping. The candidate must also have a willingness to handle animals.
