Research Technician

The University of Pittsburgh’s, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Research Technician in the Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine. The Research Technician will assist in the planning, conduct, and analysis of experiments, maintaining lab records and inventories, ordering of supplies, and will assist with general lab organization. The technician will also be expected to maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook that is updated in real time. The technician will assist in data processing, statistical analysis, and graphic presentation of data. This individual will be expected to conduct difficult/complex lab testing, develop methods and procedures to be used in research protocols and experiments, and will aid with grant proposals, reports, and research publications.

The position may require some early morning or weekend hours, but those would occur sporadically. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized and detail oriented. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. This position is located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment.
