Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V for the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics / Center for Emerging & Re-emerging Pathogens within the New Jersey Medical School.  Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Laboratory Manager or Research Teaching Specialist I, this individual will perform various research activities. S/he will perform work requiring application of standard laboratory techniques and procedures. Among the key duties of this position are the following: As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory. Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary, and proposing new procedures where required. Assists with training fellows, medical students and lab technicians in laboratory techniques as directed. Responsible for submitting purchase recommendations to his/her supervisor. Ensures that laboratory equipment is maintained in good working orders. Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement	Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
