Job Description
The Chemistry and Biochemistry, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Scientist to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The successful candidate will pursue research projects related to nucleic acid and protein interactions critical to HIV replication; maintain a complete and thorough record of research using standard laboratory practices; attend research group meetings, including joint retrovirus group meetings; contribute substantially to the day-to-day operations of the research group by performing a variety of tasks not directly related to research projects, assist in directing junior research graduate students; work with all members of the research group; perform other duties as assigned by faculty supervisor.
Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in chemistry
Required Qualifications
Required: Doctorate in Chemistry; Demonstrated ability to be a competent and productive researcher.
Desired: Experience in enzyme kinetics and nucleic acid biophysics is desired.
