The University of Southern California is seeking a Research Scientist to work with Professor Chongwu Zhou in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  The Research Scientist, whose experience and knowledge can help the PhD students in Prof. Zhou’s research group accomplish research project milestones in a timely manner, will work with the PhD students within the group who are working on indium oxide nanoribbon based biosensors.

Responsibilities/Outcomes:

The Research Scientist will participate in the fabrication and testing of indium oxide nanoribbon based biosensor for cancer diagnosis. This includes:

•           Conducting experiments by using laboratory/computer equipment.

•           Maintaining laboratory equipment.

•           Maintaining accurate records of procedures used in the experiment.

•           Assisting Research Assistants in conducting experiments.

•           Ordering laboratory supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate
  • At least 5 years of experience beyond PhD
  • Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, biofunctionalization, and electronic testing.
