Research Scholarship (“Bolsa de Investigação” ) – BI/ Nº2022/00135 (# of pos: 2)

Summary: There is an open call for two (2) Research Scholarships (“Bolsa de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project Joint-Lab-RD2 with collaboration of Huawei Technologies.

The work is on advance PA design techniques to improve the efficiency performance at large back-off levels.

Scientific Area: Wireless Technologies

Group: Wireless Circuits – Av

Work Objectives: Study the state-of-the-art power amplifier architectures and see if they can be used to improve the efficiency at large power back-off levels. Propose novel power amplifiers/system architectures. Propose advanced design methods (e.g., using Artificial Intelligence Techniques) Find the limitations in the current technologies and give hints to their improvement.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Luís Cótimos Nunes. With possible visits to Huawei Sweden or Shanghai.

Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: November 2022 or soon thereafter.
