Position Overview
The Department of Family Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Manager. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 5 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator.
The Research Manager’s primary role will be to direct and manage the research program by creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements and managing the constraints of cost, time, scope and quality. This includes developing and implementing research projects, assisting with strategic planning and implementation of daily tasks required to execute the business plan as well as directing staff research activities. In order to accomplish this the Research Manager will use his/her research expertise and experience. The Research Manager will be required to define and communicate project performance expectations to staff, monitor project progress, use his/her leadership skills to guide staff, and assist staff to resolve research-related problems. The Research Manager will coordinate the administrative processes of the research project or unit and have responsibility to hire, discipline, evaluate, terminate and pay staff/faculty in a research project
