Research Lab Tech-Sr

Job Summary:

 

Under limited supervision, responsible for providing technical lab support by performing complex laboratory and research related tasks. Performs a full range of laboratory technician assignments and uses considerable judgment in making decisions requiring the interpretation and application of guidelines. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

 

Job Duties:

 

Administers the routine functions of the research laboratory and outlines technical procedures used in experiments; acts as specialist on laboratory methods and equipment functions.

Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency.

Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions; ensures laboratory compliance and record keeping.

Evaluates experiment results using statistical and multivariate analysis.

May instruct a laboratory academic section in laboratory techniques, instruments, methods, and procedures.

Coordinates the work of other laboratory technicians by scheduling assignments and overseeing the work.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

 

High school diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree is preferred.

 

Experience:

 

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience based on education level is required.
