The Opportunity
The Faculty of Business & Economics is currently recruiting for a Research Fellow to join the Department of Management to understand the global impact on sustainable development for the Pacific Region. Our project leverages the power of Blockchain for enhancing sustainability practices. With the advanced technologies underpinning our modern world, we propose to harness blockchain, in particular, the Algorand-empowered blockchain, to develop key sustainability projects and collaborations across the Pacific Region in different sectors.
The Postdoctoral/Research Fellow will work closely with Associate Professor Xin Ma as well as a community of related researchers across the Algorand Foundation and Monash Blockchain Technology Centre on the establishment of Environmental and Societal Sustainability.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct research through Blockchain technologies for combating climate change and developing blockchain-based information management systems in the food and agriculture supply chains under limited supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently
- Take leadership in writing reports and academic papers and proposals
- Develop collaboration with other research teams and industry partners
- Attendance at conferences and seminars in the field of expertise subject to availability of funds
- Provide basic administrative support
The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Operations and Supply Chain Management, or the relevant discipline in a closely related field. You will also have knowledge of Blockchain Technology, Blockchain-Driven Supply Chain Management, Food and Agriculture Supply Chains, and Optimization Algorithms, excellent communication skills and experience in writing proposals and reports.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
