  • Base salary range: Level B $105,043 – $124,301 p.a. or Level C $128,152 – $147,413 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

This position is located in the School of Population and Global Health in the (Reducing) Oral Health Inequities Research Group. This group focuses on a range of oral health and equity projects, with a particular focus on under-served population groups. Current projects include an ARC Discovery Grant investigating the social practices of oral health in young children.

About the opportunity

This position will play a key role as a member of an inter-disciplinary and intercultural research team contributing to the body of knowledge in inequity and oral health. You will undertake significant conceptual work and work with diverse communities and stakeholders. You will also contribute to building the qualitative research capacity in the team and supervising higher degree research students.

About you 

You will be an experienced qualitative researcher with expertise in project design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, dissemination and translation of research findings into ways to improve current oral health policies and practices.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • PhD in health or social sciences or related field
  • Advanced qualitative research skills (post-graduate degree and experience)
  • Experience and ability to explore theoretical frameworks in qualitative research
  • Experience working with community groups from diverse sociocultural backgrounds and under-served populations
  • Demonstrate and implement equity in relation to health and health care
  • A strong track record as CI in applying for successful competitive grants applications
