Job Description:

The School of Nursing & Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The successful candidate will be an active member of the research project team in the design and development of an optimal care pathway for patients living with comorbid Acute coronary syndrome and Type 2 diabetes.

Based in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast, the postholder will be required to liaise with the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • Obtained or be about to obtain a relevant PhD in a health or other relevant discipline (e.g., nursing, social science, psychology, allied health, health services research).
  • Have at least 3 years’ relevant research experience in nursing, health or social sciences, to include:
    • Experience of research in chronic condition management/prevention/risk
    • Experience of recruiting study participants
    • Experience of conducting qualitative research.
  • Have experience of conducting scoping/ systematic review(s).
  • Have experience of PPI, specifically in establishing/co-ordinating project/study advisory/steering groups.
  • Experience of presentations/dissemination of research findings at local, national or international level.
  • A publication track record, commensurate with career stage.

This is a fixed term position, available until 6 November 2024. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
