  • Level B: $107,177 – $123,775 + 17% Superannuation

The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child is the world’s first research centre dedicated to creating positive digital childhoods for all Australian children. Funded through a $34.9M grant and an additional $32.2M in cash and in-kind contributions from national and international partners, the Centre will deliver and disseminate evidence-based research for Australian children to be healthy, educated, and connected in a digital world. Led by and headquartered at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, the Centre comprises researchers from Australian universities including Curtin University, Deakin University, Edith Cowan University, University of Queensland, and University of Wollongong.

The appointee will support and contribute to the research agenda of the University of Wollongong Node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child – with particular (but not exclusive) alignment with the Educated Child program of work. Specifically, the purpose of this position is to:

  • Contribute to the Educated Child research agenda at UOW, by proposing and leading novel research projects/directions and supporting Centre research conducted by other UOW Node Investigators and investigators at other institutions (as directed by specific projects)
  • Make contributions to the design and operation of experiences within UOW’s Children’s Technology Play Space and participate in the associated research agenda
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the UOW Node’s Educated Child strand, including managing teams, projects and liaison within and amongst the UOW Node investigators, centre partners, QUT hub and other nodes
  • Undertake supervisory roles, such as PhD, honours and/or research assistant supervision, in support of UOW Node operations
