Research Fellow, School of Computing



Job Description

 

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join our vibrant research team at the National University of Singapore’s Computer Science department. The successful candidate will be engaged in cutting-edge research projects that contribute to the advancement of computer science and its applications. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a stimulating academic environment and collaborate with leading researchers in the field.

 

  • Conduct innovative research in computer science
  • Design and develop novel algorithms, models, and systems to address key challenges in the field.
  • Collaborate with faculty members, fellow researchers, and industry partners to contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, disseminating knowledge and contributing to the academic community.
  • Assist in securing research funding by contributing to grant proposals and project planning.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance and support in their research activities.
  • Stay abreast of recent developments in computer science through literature review, seminars, and conferences.
  • Participate in departmental activities, including workshops, seminars, and outreach events.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
  • Strong research background in [insert specific area of research], demonstrated through publications in prestigious conferences and journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, etc., and experience with software development tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, data mining, or artificial intelligence techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and critically.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and engage in scholarly discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in research grant writing and project management will be an advantage.
