Research Fellow (Quantum Information and Algorithms)

A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).The candidate is expected to perform research conduct research under the umbrella of the Associate Prof Gu’s qroup covering various cross-disciplinary aspects of quantum information, focusing on its intersection with data analytics, agency and stochastic modelling. Keys areas of research include: Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Data Analytics, Quantum Machine Learning, NISQ Computing.

Job Responsibilities

• To conduct research in key areas of quantum information science

• To help in supervision of students in key areas of quantum information science

• To initiate collaborations with international experts in quantum information science

Job Requirements

• PhD in theoretical quantum information or related field

• Excellent English verbal/written communication skills

• Record of high impact publications related to quantum information science

• Ability to communicate technique ideas to interdisciplinary scientific audiences

• Previous experience in the proposal of new quantum algorithms/protocols

• Previous experience in quantum machine learning

• Experience in adapting theoretical concepts to testable experimental proposals

• Collaborative ties with leading experimental groups in quantum technologies

• Research experience or general knowledge in areas of data analytics
