 About the Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research (AWaGHR) Centre   

The AWaGHR Centre’s mission is to improve the health of women and girls across the course of their life, from pre-conception to older age. This is achieved through research and translation activities founded on three pillars of expertise: epidemiology of women and girls’ health, methodology, and knowledge translation into clinical practice and policy 

About This Opportunity 

This position will lead a program of qualitative research to provide greater understanding of women’s experience of health conditions, and women’s interactions with the health care system. The position will focus on two research streams currently funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council:

Women’s experiences with pre-conception, antenatal and post-natal care. Women’s experiences with non-communicable diseases and risk factors for these diseases to find better methods for their prevention.

The work will complement the program of epidemiological and longitudinal research conducted in the Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research (AWaGHR) Centre. The qualitative research will explore how our better understanding of women and girl’s health can be translated into programs that improve the health of women and girls.

Key responsibilities will include the areas of Research, Supervision and Researcher Development and Service.

About You  

  • Experience in conducting qualitative research

  • Knowledge and experience of women’s health care in Australia

  • Completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline.

  • A growing profile in research in relevant areas.

  • A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Experience in liaising and collaborating with other agencies involved in the delivery of health care to women

What We Can Offer 

This is a full-time (100% FTE) fixed-term position for up to 2 years at Academic Level B.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $101,533.66 to $120,570.86 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $118,794.38 to $141,067.91 per annum.
