Coventry University and the University of Warwick have come together to create a research cluster focusing on race and higher education. As part of this new research theme we a looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with previous experience of research related to issues of race and ethnicity, preferably in the area of higher education but this is not essential
The appointment to this post will coincides with the recruitment to 7 fully funded PhD studentships under the RACE XChange studentship scheme. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to join the RACE XChange team. This is an opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to work with a team of researchers as part of a Coventry University and University of Warwick collaboration, whilst also undertaking their own guided research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on existing knowledge, skills and experiences in research, leadership and team work.
The successful candidate will be expected to play a role on supervisory teams of the PhD candidates whilst also undertaking their own leading-edge research linked to improving minority ethnic student experiences in higher education. Whilst the successful candidate is expected to identify and shape their own research in this area, there an expectation of an intersectional focus within the identified research.
This is a unique opportunity to be working jointly with two different universities with a joint ambition to explore lived experiences of higher education students of colour with a view to improving their experiences of higher education. The successful candidate will be an employee of Coventry University but will have full access to research resources at both Coventry University and the University of Warwick and will have support from colleagues at both universities. Our aim is to build and sustain an innovative research cluster comprising doctoral students who are developing their own individual research into broadly related themes linked to race, and education.
