About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Fellow to conduct clinical and laboratory-based research in the Melbourne Dental School and the Bio21 Institute of Molecular Science and Biotechnology under the supervision of Laureate Professor Eric C. Reynolds.

You will join a large team of clinical and basic scientists led by Professor Reynolds working on developing a greater understanding of the aetiology of severe periodontal disease and its’ link with systemic diseases, like Alzheimer’s Disease.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and carry out experiments focused on completion of research project aims.
  • Carry out experiments related to the project ethically, accurately and productively.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day planning of clinical research and organisation of the laboratory.

Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated researcher, with a strong interest in periodontal and systemically-related disease. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will enable you to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, to meet project goals. 

You will also have:

  • Training in dentistry with a dental qualification.
  • PhD in Dental or Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and bioimage analysis.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
