Research Fellow (Part-time 06.FTE)

The School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow.

The successful applicant will be an active member of the ARK research team. ARK is Northern Ireland’s social policy hub, working across Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University (www.ark.ac.uk ). You will contribute to ARK’s three public attitudes surveys; developing and undertaking communication and dissemination activities; and carrying out other research activities and projects as required. The post holder will collaborate with colleagues across Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, as well as with external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • A PhD or are about to obtain a PhD in a relevant social science discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant research experience in qualitative or quantitative methods.
  • Demonstrable experience using statistical packages such as SPSS.
  • Demonstrable experience in applying for research funding.
  • Demonstrable experience of disseminating research outputs to a range of academic and non-academic audiences.
  • A publication record commensurate with stage of career.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months.  Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
