An exciting opportunity is available for a talented researcher to join the large and successful Person-Based Approach team at the University of Southampton (see www.personbasedapproach.org ). The work will involve conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups with NHS patients and healthcare practitioners to explore their views on novel interventions for preventing diabetic foot ulcers. This will involve gaining ethical approvals, recruiting participants, conducting the qualitative work, working with PPI and stakeholders to gather additional rapid insights and working with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, clinicians and engineers. You will need experience of qualitative research and an in-depth understanding of health psychology (or closely related field). You will need to be able to work independently and efficiently in a research context, and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
We are open to flexible working patterns and to home working arrangements.
Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
